AHHAA's Friends Club
During its 10 years of activity Science Centre AHHAA has become well-known not only in Tartu but in all Estonia. For achieving it, we are also obliged to people who do not belong to the official staff of AHHAA but who have helped our science centre both with action and advice. Their contribution has included preparing new exhibits, performing science theatre programs and a lot more. Such voluntary support groups also assist work of science centres all over the world, confirming benefits of such cooperation.
To unite those active people AHHAA's Friends Club was established in December 2003. It is functioning as a fellowship and having its regular meetings where topics of common interest are treated. The form of those meetings differs from scientific seminars by its wider range of topics and more popular approach to presenting them. Also more activity is expected from participants than in academic lectures or science theatre performances. For instance, sometimes quite exclusive one-time experiments are carried out that are problematic to repeat in a lesson or science show (too labor-consuming, expensive, dangerous etc.).
AHHAA's Friends Club also has its mailing list where discussions are held in every kind of topics involving AHHAA and its scope of activity - interesting things and phenomena around us.
At present the chairman of AHHAA's Friends Club is Henn Voolaid and deputy chairperson is Kaido Reivelt.
