Science Theatre
HHAA's Science theatre shows are spectacular and educational. You will find yourself in the midst of the rustle and bustle of experiments and explosions and get simple explanations to the principles behind the laws of nature.
The science theatre shows can be enjoyed in the Science Theatre of Science Centre AHHAA in Tartu every day. Each show can seat up to 70 people. A more detailed plan is displayed on the screens located in the lobby of the centre. The shows are free for anyone who has purchased a ticket to the centre.
For an extra fee, science theatre shows can be booked to travel to a location of your choice.

1. Dangers of Science
Have you noticed the vast amount of physical and chemical dangers around you? At this science theatre show you will find amazingly delivered answers to the following questions:
*Why do ships sink in the Bermuda triangle?
*How to make electricity and can humans be safely used as live electric cords?
*Why do heavy winds blow roofs off buildings?
*How to accidentally make a vacuum bomb?
*Why should you not play with matches near mole holes?
*How do burn money without actually burning it?
*Is burning really dangerous?
The show ends with a massive explosion.
2. Exploding and Bubbling Chemistry
We will open a bottle of scientific champagne and turn wine into water. You can also get a taste of "pure chemistry". The protagonist of this show is fire and, by using different chemicals, we create the best possible environment for burning. We will take a look at how fast smokeless gunpowder can burn, why the fireworks are colourful and what the opposing sides of various wars have used for blinding their enemies. We will create light and sparkle without using any flame and make cold, hot and exploding foam.
This is the show where the biggest bangs can be heard.
3. Rescue Theatre
Nobody likes to be told what to do or not to do.
For example: "try to be careful while making pancakes... or, whatever you do, do not try to put out burning oil with water!". The Rescue Theatre shows all the mistakes that you should avoid. We will do EVERYTHING the way it should not be done so that you would not have to try it yourself.
PS: This is the show where the biggest explosions can be seen!
A fast-forwarded video of the Rescue Theatre can be seen HERE.
4. Healthy Eating
This show teaches amateur chefs how to cook and not only get the meal ready but also survive when you are done! Because this is what healthy eating is all about! We use humour to look at the dangers of cooking and demonstrate the things that should never, ever be done while in the kitchen.
5. Physics
At this show you will find answers to the following questions:
*Can air flatten a soda can?
*How to make a table leg sing?
*What is fog?
*How to become a figure skater?
*Can you set yourself on fire without burning yourself?
*What is used for loading a cannon?
The shows gives numerous volunteers the chance to become a part of the spectacle and ends with a cannon shot.
6. An Elf's Christmas Exam
Do you know what a real elf must know and be able to do? Every elf must know how to pack gifts as tight together as possible and every elf must also have a precise biological clock. Every elf must know the secrets of snow, how to play hide-and-seek and peek at kids on the magic bubble. As you might have guessed, every elf must also know Christmas tunes and love winter sports. In addition, elves should also be masters in decorating with lights even when there is no electricity available. As a final fact, every elf must be able to organize a fireworks show and fly away using a shuttle motor. You can help our elves to pass their Christmas exam and see whether they are ready to become REAL elves or not.
7. The Earth's Invisible Crown
Everything began with the Big Bang and our show is no exception. Soon after that the Sun was formed and the Earth created with a blanket of air covering it. In this show we will see what air is made of, why the clouds are white and cannot fall from the skies. We will also get to know why the sky is red at sunset and why there are so many colours in the rainbow. We will talk about the greenhouse effect and test the efficiency of sun screens in protecting us from UV-rays.
