Aha, Electric Cars!

On 28 June 2013, Science Centre AHHAA opened the very first electric car demo centre in Estonia. Come and check out our brand new exhibits at AHHAA! Find out how electric engines differ from internal combustion engines and drive a real electric car!

The demo centre is located in the Hall of Technology of AHHAA. Its main exhibit is an interactive electric car simulator, which allows you to simulate a car ride by operating the steering wheel, pedals, gear box and various switches. A realistic image that changes with your every action will appear on the windshield.

Check out the charging devices as well - we have both standard and fast chargers on display. The exhibition offers a thorough, but simple overview of how the engines and transmission systems of electric cars work, and describes the charging process in detail.

We also have a Nissan Leaf and a Mitsubishi i-MiEV that our visitors can drive! Read more below.

Test drive

  • For the visitors of Science Centre AHHAA who have a valid driver's license and at least two years of driving experience.
  • Visitors who want to drive an electric car must enter into a contract of use with Science Centre AHHAA and present a copy of their driver's license. Photocopies can be made in AHHAA as well.
  • Test driving is only possible on the day of visit and for 30 minutes maximum.
  • Electric cars are available for test driving daily (on the opening times of the centre)

The exhibition stays in AHHAA Tartu until the end of 2017.
